Paintings by Charles Pompilius
I began this blog in September of 2009. It was inspired by the Painting a Day movement. Although most of the earlier work posted here is less direct and involved more than one sitting to complete, the idea was similar to the daily painters in that I intended to regularly offer small, affordable oil paintings, mostly of the human figure, that were consistent with and derived from my larger, more thematic work. My intention was to post a new painting every other day, and the project was quite successful. However, I have now turned my attention to commissioned portraiture. I will continue to post both new and older work to the blog. Please come back often, or subscribe to follow this blog at the link below. I look forward to your comments, and please email any questions to info@charlespompilius.com.
the tea cup handle in the mirror reflection?
ReplyDeleteNope. It's there if you look closely. But good try JT.
ReplyDeleteAh-Ha! The lace on her lap! Good one Charles :)
ReplyDeletenice.... great composition and feel....
ReplyDeleteGood eye Bill. I added the lace on her lap for visual interest, but couldn't figure out how it would look in reflection. So I just left it out!
ReplyDeleteHola, felicidades, es un cuadro realmente hermoso y magníficamente ejecutado.
ReplyDeleteSaludos
Maybe a spoon in the cup. Or, a small table with a plate of sconces, cookies, etc.?
ReplyDeleteI like it the way it is. What a beautiful young lady!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, Charles, I don't know how you keep these coming. Beautiful. On another note, is your shoulder much improved?
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I can't believe you can get such a finished feel of a larger painting in such a small format!
